SPANISH: ADVENTURE AND CULTURE

OBJECTIVE

The Spanish: Adventure and Culture program has the main objective to develop linguistic and communicative competences in Spanish as a Foreign Language through the knowledge of the language processes, the understanding of the language structure and functioning, and the immersion in social and cultural activities that will allow participants to get familiar with the use of the language and to use the language properly in real linguistic contexts.

ACADEMIC SEMESTER IN SPANISH
A program designed for students in Health Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Law and Social Sciences, Systems and Food Engineering, Exact and Natural Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences. This program allows students to study during one semester or a year in Universidad the Caldas while simultaneously taking Spanish courses during 10 hours per week including cultural immersion activities and touristic activities around the Coffee Triangle.

TEACHERS’ FORMATION
A 6, 9 or 12 months program designed for teachers in different areas interested in learning bilingual education processes Spanish-English. The program includes the teaching or improvement of Spanish for educational purposes through Spanish AS A Foreign Language and Spanish Didactics courses, and the participation in courses in Spanish which interest the participants. It includes immersion activities in the culture and touristic activities around the Coffee Triangle.

KNOWLEDGE, CULTURE AND ADVENTURE IN SPANISH

Spanish and Music: Basic, intermediate and advanced Spanish courses and learning or improvement in the performance of a musical instrument with the Music Program Professors at Universidad de Caldas. It includes immersion activities in the culture and touristic routes in the Coffee Triangle.

Spanish and Arts: Basic, intermediate and advanced Spanish courses and learning or improvement in Scenic and Plastic Arts with the Scenic Arts and Fine Arts Professors at Universidad de Caldas. It includes immersion activities in the culture and touristic routes in the Coffee Triangle.

Spanish and Ecotourism: 20 class hours per week basic, intermediate and advanced Spanish as a Foreign Language courses program. It includes cultural, ecotourism, agroturism and sports activities.

Spanish and Medicine: A program designed for personnel in the area of Health interested in learning or improving Spanish in the area of Medicine through practical work in the Faculty of Health Sciences. It also includes Spanish as a Foreign Language classes, field work, cultural activities and touristic routes around the Coffee Triangle.

Spanish for Business: A program designed for executives interested in improving their Spanish and in learning about culture and business in Colombia. It includes Spanish as a Foreign Language classes, seminars about negotiation techniques, visits to companies, and cultural and touristic activities in the Coffee Triangle.
